What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically; on the whole body, mind and spirit. It is not a system of religious beliefs. The energy is Universal Love.

Reiki is simply a relaxing treatment where natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki Practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the client. Every Reiki Practitioner will have been specially attuned to Reiki with their Reiki Master.

I started my Reiki journey in 2005. I have practised Reiki on family and clients for years now. I also volunteered at the Alexandria Dog Training Club and did Reiki with dogs there for 2 years. My own Reiki Master was Heather Cathcart of Duntocher. Heather was also an Aromatherapy lecturer for Anniesland College. I was taught both hands-on and hands-off Reiki. Heather has since retired, and to her, I will always be very grateful.
Since February 2020, I have been studying for my Reiki Masters at Tirnanog, Drymen. Obviously due to lockdown, my studies there have been temporarily halted until it is safe to return. But during lockdown, I have continued to send Reiki from my daily healing book and have always had my immediate family to practice on.

Most Reiki Practitioners do self-Reiki daily, almost like charging your batteries. During Reiki treatments, the client is fully clothed unless they are having a combination treatment with massage. Reiki can be given to clients sitting in a chair or lying on the treatment table.

Another energy work that I practice with is Waveform Energetics (see other page for information) and when I practice Reflexology, I often use both.

To describe how Reiki feels, as a client, is to feel very at peace. It is a very relaxing treatment. It is very popular and used alongside my massage treatments to finish off.
